THANK YOU for supporting our 3rd Annual Indigenous Peoples Day Newton (IPDN) Ceremonial Celebration! We are already planning this year's event with gusto.

We hope you will continue to support us in whatever ways you are able. Please learn more below about the ways you can get more involved!
Your individual financial contributions help support our programming throughout the year as well as the Indigenous Peoples Day Newton ceremonial celebration so that we can invite Indigenous peoples from all over the US & beyond to participate & be generously compensated for their time and teachings. We strive to always honor, value, & cherish our Indigenous relatives for their energies.
Your company's philanthropic support allows us to build better infrastructure & give us a broader reach to enhance our programming on the day of IPD Newton's ceremonial celebration. With your sponsorship we not only bring incredible speaker, performers, & artists to Newton, but we also expand our supportive community by knowing & working with you. Thank you for your consideration!
As we have grown, we have begun to host events throughout the year to raise awareness about our ceremonial celebration as well as deliver meaningful educational content to Newton about Indigenous peoples and our gifts and history.
Please join us for a future event! We hope to see you soon.
Our Ceremonial Celebration not only hosts incredible speakers & performers, but also many Indigenous-owned businesses, community organizations, & local service providers.

By creating a holistic event that includes not only our talent on the stage but also showcases the many gifts we hold as Indigenous folks surrounding the stage, we hope each individual who joins to celebrate learns something new, makes a new friend, & expands their mind to see how very diverse Indigenous peoples are in the Americas & beyond. And, most importantly, we are still here! Stronger than ever.
Not only is our planning committee entirely comprised of volunteers, but the conducting of the day-long event with stage performers & speakers, vendors, & individuals who watch over our children & elders take many, many hands & hearts to accomplish all that is our Ceremonial Celebration. We also host other events throughout the year leading up to the event that may need volunteer support.

In other words, we need YOU, Newton residents! The more the merrier. It takes a village!
While many towns & cities in MA have decided to officially recognize the 2nd Monday in October as Indigenous Peoples Day, we need collective action to ensure that it becomes recognized state-wide.

IPD Mass website: "Words have meanings; [...]. If we continue to erase Indigenous peoples, and celebrate a colonizer (Christopher Columbus) [...], that will have a direct impact on the ways Indigenous peoples are treated. If we can’t even so much as celebrate the first peoples of this land, and not the person responsible for the largest genocide ever committed, then how can we expect good public policy or day to day treatment for Native Americans?"
